Cars Christmas!

Hey there, fellow adventurers! I'm thrilled to share with you the incredible journey my family and I enjoyed during our unforgettable trip to Disney World in August 2022. This was our fifth visit since 2016 and we planned to get the most out of the parks while still enjoying breaks each day for a swim or nap. We were excited to try new rides, new restaurants, and all our old favorites too. As locals to Disneyland, it’s fun to see the differences between the parks.

We stayed at the amazing Fort Wilderness Cabins, where my husband, two sons ages 5 and 2, and I had our own cabin with bedroom, living room, kitchen, a private deck, and parking directly outside. We rented a golf cart for our stay and could whip around Camp Wilderness to the pools, campfire with Chip and Dale in the evenings, the dock for the ferry to Magic Kingdom, and the bus depot for all other parks in just a short drive.

Our first park was Hollywood Studios to check out Toy Story Land, Star Wars Land, and new Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railway ride. Having researched Genie+ beforehand, I was ready to make the most of our day! We got into the park just after 9am and headed to Toy Story Land, where my son went on Slinky Dog Dash, his first roller coaster, then Alien Saucers followed by a visit with Buzz and Woody. Then we headed over to the Disney Junior Dance Party so my children could get their energy out, then made my husband’s day by watching the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. Afterwards we took a couple scenic rides on the Skyliner to Caribbean Beach Resort for a fun stroll and headed back to our cabin for lunch and a rest. After recharging, we went back to Hollywood Studios for more rides and my favorite dinner at the Sci Fi Dine-In Theatre. I felt like we were outside enjoying a drive in movie in a top-down convertible with milkshakes and burgers. So much fun! I ended the night with a ride on the Rock N Roller Coaster while my husband took the boys to learn how to be champion racers at the Lightning McQueen Academy. We made our way back to our fantastic cabin for a good night’s sleep before the next big day.

Day two was spent at a leisurely pace touring Epcot. First stop was the new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This journey combines moving through the ride with vivid scenes on screens so it feels like running through Paris with Remy. We spent the morning visiting some favorites such as Nemo, Journey Into Imagination, and Pixar Short Films. After a morning with a few rides under our belts, we went to Downtown Disney to eat lunch surrounded by dinosaurs and ice caves at the T-Rex Restaurant. After lunch we rested and had a swim at the hotel before going back to the park. Then it was time to have a global adventure around the World Showcase where we ventured from country to country, visiting characters from around the world such as Snow White and Alice, and immersing ourselves in different cultures while shopping.  The kids had a blast with some of their favorite rides like Frozen Ever After and Three Caballeros before dining at San Angel Inn. This is another favorite restaurant as it feels like an outdoor plaza. Afterwards we marveled at the dazzling fireworks illuminating the night sky over the lagoon. The last ride of the night was the fastest journey of them all, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This ride combines the thrilling feel of Space Mountain with amazing graphics, smooth motion turning 360 degrees, and fun music, making it my new favorite ride of all time. The perfect ending to a second magical day.

One of the highlights of our trip was exploring Pandora: The World of Avatar in Disney's Animal Kingdom. We marveled at the breathtaking beauty of the floating mountains and vibrant bioluminescent flora. The Avatar Flight of Passage ride took us on a mesmerizing journey through Pandora's ecosystem, soaring atop the back of a banshee. The Navi River Journey was gorgeously presented along a smooth boat ride. My sons loved the Festival of the Lion King show where they watched acrobats flip while we cooled off.

Our time at Disney World was a perfect blend of thrilling rides, captivating shows, and precious family moments. From the joyous parades to the dazzling nighttime spectacles, every experience was meticulously crafted to evoke a sense of wonder and happiness.

If you're considering a family trip to Disney World, I wholeheartedly encourage you to embark on this incredible adventure. It's a place where dreams come true and where the young and young-at-heart can find joy in every corner. The memories we made will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
