Wat Phra Si Rattana

I arrived in Bangkok, the bustling capital city of Thailand, and was immediately taken aback by the vibrant energy of the place. From the moment I stepped out of the airport, I was surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of a culture vastly different from my own.

The first few days in Bangkok were a whirlwind of exploring. I visited the awe-inspiring Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, home to the famous Emerald Buddha. The intricate details of the buildings and the shimmering gold leaf were stunning, and I spent hours admiring the architecture.

Next, I made my way to the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market. The maze of stalls selling everything from traditional Thai handicrafts to street food was overwhelming, but I couldn't resist picking up a few souvenirs.

After a few days in Bangkok, I hopped on a plane to Chiang Mai, the cultural hub of northern Thailand. The city was a stark contrast to Bangkok, with a laid-back atmosphere and a focus on art and traditional crafts. I visited the stunning Wat Phra That Doi Suthep temple, perched atop a mountain overlooking the city. The views were breathtaking, and the peacefulness of the temple was a welcome respite from the bustle of Bangkok.

I visited a families home for a cooking class and oh was that amazing. They told us about the history of their family and Chiang Mai which so intriguing.    We made some of my favorite dishes like pad thai, curry and few more.  Then we got to eat our freshly made meal that we prepared.

Then one of my favorite things we did was visit the Elephant Sanctuary.  I had always been fascinated by these gentle giants, and it was incredible to see them up close and learn about their behavior and history. I even got to feed and bathe one of the elephants, which was an experience I'll never forget.

Next up was Koh Samui, a beautiful island in the Gulf of Thailand. The beaches were pristine, with white sand and crystal-clear waters. I spent my days lounging on the beach, sipping fresh coconuts, and snorkeling in the warm sea. One of the highlights of my time in Koh Samui was a visit to the nearby Ang Thong National Marine Park, where I kayaked through turquoise lagoons and hiked to stunning viewpoints.

As my trip came to a close, I realized that Thailand had captured my heart. The kindness of the people, the beauty of the culture, and the stunning landscapes had left a lasting impression on me. I knew that I would be back one day to explore even more of this incredible country.   Which i have many times and will continue to visit it whenever I can.
