What’s
next on your travel horizon? Actually, it’s just that . . . NEXT.
What do you want to see and do next? Where do you want to go next? How
do you next want to get “there?” How do your travel plans
and ideas fit in with the trends that the experts are predicting next
for the new year? According to a recent article in Travel Weekly, we – as
consumers – are “as restless as ever.” We have become “collectors
of experiences” and “are more eager than ever before to ride
the next trend.” Whether it is an “an ideal” Las Vegas
weekend, the “perfect” week in Hawaii or the “ultimate” African
safari – that’s what we want next. Here’s some of what
we’ve learned. We hope you will find this as interesting as we
did.
• Our travel partners are working around the clock to satisfy our “insatiable
appetite” for the next level in new ships, new tour concepts, new thrills,
new insights about destinations, new ways to save and new ways to indulge.
• However, as much as we’re looking for “next” – we’re
still hanging on to old habits and traditions – i.e., “beautiful
scenery” still tops our list of desirable destination attributes.
• You are asking us, as your travel professional, to create more and more
special-interest, customized itineraries for you – ranging from birding
expeditions to safaris, art history tours to spa vacations.
• Your next vacation needs to be “authentic,” with that word’s
definition running the gamut from “learning vacations” and “dining
in a local family’s home” to the “once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
• For many of us, our vacation time can now be defined as “the long-distance
short holiday” – i.e. we are willing to fly long distances and stay
a relatively short period of time, with long weekend getaways (mini-vacations)
now making up over 50% of our vacation time.
• Most of us will travel “at least as much – if not more – than
we did last year.”
So, what is next on your horizon? Is it Europe? The Continent is definitely in
vogue. Or is this the year you want to get back to nature and discover (or rediscover)
the quintessential Great Land? As always . . . wherever you want to go, we can
get you there. We look forward to helping you – our “always-on, well-informed,
up-to-speed, in-control American consumer” – or better defined as
our savvy, experienced client – to take your travel ideas and dreams to
the next level.
